The Guampa mate is a cup that is used to drink yerba mate. In Paraguay it is traditional for a mate cup to be made from a hollowed bull’s horn and called a Guampa (Guampa Mate). Some people call them Guampa Tereré because they are commonly used in Paraguay to drink Yerba Mate Tereré style. For more information you can watch our How to prepare Tereré (instructions and video)
The end is sealed with a resin base which seals the cup. Please note you will receive 1 guampa.. The photo shows the typical shades that this item comes in which is for illustration. The colour you receive will be random however if you have a strong preference, please contact us in advance of your purchase. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
It is important that you cure and care for your mate cup properly which prevent splits, improve the life of the Guampa and the taste of your brew. For Guampas you should soak for 24 hours in detergent & water, and then follow the curing instructions for a natural gourd. See our relevant guides:

As guampas are a natural item, the item you receive may differ in size, shape and colour slightly from the photos. The colouring of the Guampa is natural and can be all or any mixture of black/brown/beige/ivory. If you have a specific requirement in colour, please contact us in advance of your purchase and we will do our best to accomodate your requirements.
