Black turtle beans are a real staple around the world, and especially in Brazil. The famous “Feijoada” is a stew of black turtle beans with beef and pork. It is popular in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Timor, Goa, and Macau. Recipes do vary from country to country, but essentially it is a blend of pork, beek, smoked sausage, onions and black turtle beans stewed together infusing a delicious flavour.
