A bombilla is a straw for drinking yerba mate. It is usually made from metal, but can also be made from cane, wood and plastic. This bombilla is made from Alpaca, sometimes known as German Silver. This alpaca bombilla is exquisitely designed, a highly shiny piece with lovely patterns engraved around the mouth piece. It is curved at the mouth piece from comfort of use.

Yerba mate is a deliciously bitter tea enjoyed in the southern countries of South America, especially Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Traditionally yerba mate is drunk from a gourd which is a natural cup made from the fruit of the calabash. The gourd is filled to around 3/4 and then water is repeatedly added and sipped through a bombilla straw. This is then repeated and passed between friends and family.
